On 17 and 18 September, the Palamós Fish Producers’ Organisation (OPP) took part in the Scientific Forum on Spanish Fisheries in the Mediterranean, held in Cartagena.

This meeting brought together experts in fisheries management, researchers and representatives of the sector, with the aim of analysing and sharing new strategies to guarantee the sustainability of Mediterranean fisheries.

Cristina Mañas, manager of the Palamós OPP, gave a presentation on new commercial strategies to promote the consumption of undervalued and local species, promoted by the OPP-91.

This initiative aims to give visibility to lesser-known species, but with a high nutritional value, which contribute to a balanced diet and sustainability of the fishing sector.

The OPP’s participation in this forum is yet another example of the organisation’s commitment to innovation and improving the marketing of local fish.

Action co-financed by the European Union and the Government of Catalonia.
