A turtle that was rescued by the Concha boat a few weeks ago will be released next Tuesday, 7th February.
A sea turtle was accidentally captured by the Palamos boat Concha on 5th December last year. Following that, CRAM – the Centre for the Recovery of Marine Animals – was notified and the protocol for the recovery of these species was activated.
With the help of this center, the turtle has recovered and is in perfect health. It is time to return it to its natural habitat and ensure the prevention and reduction of unwanted catches, which is part of the production and marketing plan of the Palamós OPP.
There will be an open release event at 11am on Platja del Castell, and Carlos Nicolàs and Ivan Nicolàs, two of la Concha fishermen, will accompany us.
