February is full of training courses!

Take note of all the courses and training that we are promoting at the OPP.

Training on how to use the new OPP app

We start on Friday 9 February with training to learn how the new OPP app works. Through the app you will be able to have a good follow-up of the fishing procedures and an exhaustive control of the fishing days, the corresponding closures, the stoppages, etc.

It will be held at the Casa del Mar in Palamós from 9am to 11am and is aimed at all members of the OPP.

Training to improve tasks on board fishing vessels

The practical training to improve the tasks on board fishing boats, designed for all fishermen and fisherwomen, will begin on Monday 19 February until Thursday 22, from 9am to 11am and will last four days.

This training is designed to learn and improve the technique in the different tasks carried out on board a fishing boat. The course will be given by Miquel Ferrés, fishermen and trainer of the Escuela Náutico Pesquera. Training aimed at all fishermen and fisherwomen in Palamós.

Firefighting course

We will continue with the firefighting course that will take place on Friday 23rd February from 9h to 11h, with the option of opening a second group from 11h to 14h and even a third group in the afternoon of the same Friday, depending on demand.

During the training hours, a real fire will be simulated in a small space, equivalent to the situation that could occur on a boat at sea, and participants will learn how to extinguish it and what steps professionals recommend to follow.

Explanatory talk on the Law on the Obligation to Disembark and the new Control Regulation

Finally, on 27 February there will be an explanatory talk on the new regulations where we will explain the application of the Law on the Landing Obligation and the new Control Regulations. The talk will be given by MAPA inspectors at the Casa del Mar in Palamós, from 10 to 11:30 am.

At the Palamós Producers’ Organisation we work to facilitate the work of those who live closely with the fishing sector by scheduling training courses of current events and of common interest.

Action co-financed by the European Union and the Catalan Government.
