On Saturday 2 March, the 4th Forum of the Catalan Association of Women of the Sea took place in Barcelona at the BISC (Barcelona International Sailing Center), under the programme “Weaving networks for sustainability”.
Cristina Mañas, manager of the Palamós Fishermen’s Guild, took part in the round table “Weaving alliances between Producers’ Organisations” through the Palamós Producers’ Organisation. During the round table we were able to share experiences between producer organisations such as the Blue Fish OPP of Catalonia, the Blue Fish OPP Catalunya Sud Tarragona and the OPP, in creation, of Cap de Creus.
Various institutions and administrations from the world of fishing also took part in the event to discuss a wide range of issues related to the evolution of the fishing sector. Such as, for example, gender equality, climate change and the sustainability measures adopted, as well as alliances between producer organisations in the territory.
Attending conferences like this one allows us to share knowledge with other institutions and administrations in the sector, which helps us to improve and continue to focus on improving it, taking into account fundamental aspects such as the environment and the human talent that makes it possible.
