On Tuesday 10th September, the Palamós prawn was the star of the recording of the gastronomic television program ‘Qui cocina avui’, which is broadcast by the Local Communication Network throughout Catalonia. The renowned chef Carles Gaig, accompanied by the actor José Corbacho, prepared a dish with the well-known/authentic red prawn, highlighting its excellent gastronomic qualities and its great versatility in the kitchen.

During the recording, Cristina Mañas, manager of the Palamós Fishermen’s Guild and the Palamós Fish Producers’ Organisation (OPP), explained the prawn fishing process and its economic and cultural importance for the municipality.

He also highlighted the importance of the Palamós Prawn Management Plan and the Guarantee Mark, which ensures the sustainability and traceability of this resource, guaranteeing maximum quality throughout the production chain.

This action reinforces the commitment of the OPP to the promotion of its local fish products and the preservation of the marine environment.
